What does a Software Developer do?

Developers at Yokogawa work in teams, designing and implementing applications based on Microsoft Windows based technology. They develop both server side and web-based applications, using SQL Server, .Net, C# and C++. 

Part of the role includes the research into new technology, and how such technology can be applied to Yokogawa products and what benefits they bring to the organisation. 

Software developers require enthusiasm, good communication skills (both verbal and written), and be focused on the needs of our customers. Our developers thrive on problem solving, with a desire for continuous quality improvements and it’s important to be a team player.

What does a Software Tester do?

Software testers work as part of a team to test a broad variety of Client, Web and GUI based information systems and applications working with agile and waterfall methodologies. Ensuring the implementation and adherence to quality processes that lead to the delivery of high-quality software applications and components. 

Software testers play an important role in determining if the software we develop meets the necessary quality standards before they are issued to customers. Having an eye for detail helps to ensure the software is fit-for-purpose, meeting our demands and expectations and builds trust with our clients. 

Being customer focused is the key, with the desire for continuous quality improvements that meet and exceed our high standards. Good communication skills (both verbal and written) with an enthusiasm for problem solving are important traits for members of our test team.

What does a Customer Support Engineer do?

Working as part of a team, our support engineers provide support to end users and affiliate engineers worldwide either over the phone, via remote connection or at site. This includes reproducing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing issues and problems to provide necessary guidance and advice to end users with an emphasis on excellent customer service.

Our support engineers have a background in software development and troubleshooting including code analysis and debugging. They demonstrate a methodical and analytical approach to problem solving using evidence from a software system combined with effective communication skills. 

To be an effective team member, you will have strong knowledge of using client / server applications in Microsoft-based operating systems with an emphasis on SQL Server, IIS, Windows networking, and security. The role includes international travel.
