Beyond common ways of commuting to work – walking, cycling, bus, car – as found around the world, some Yokogawa Marex colleagues travelling to the office make use of a more unusual mode of transport: a chain ferry or 'floating bridge'.
This connects the towns of East Cowes and Cowes, the latter being the home of Yokogawa Marex, across the River Medina at the northern end of the Isle of Wight.
According the Wikipedia: "The first floating bridge between the two towns was established in 1859 and the crossing is one of the few remaining. The service is owned and operated by the Isle of Wight Council, which has run it since 1901.
"The ferry currently used is named No. 6, the sixth to be owned by the Isle of Wight Council, and ninth in total. It was built in 2017 and can carry up to 20 cars. The Cowes Floating Bridge remains the only [public] way to cross the River Medina between the towns without taking a 16km trip via Newport."
