Yokogawa Marex staff donated their Christmas Gifts to help those who need it most this winter. Both Mountbatten Isle of Wight and the Isle of Wight Foodbank each received a donation of £875.
Instead of receiving the usual Christmas hamper, many staff decided that they would rather see their Christmas gift donated to local good causes for the third year running.
Jane Judah – Mountbatten Community Support Worker comments, “Thank you so much to the team at Yokogawa Marex in Cowes for their continued support, what a kind donation from the staff. Thank you for thinking of us, knowing you are supporting us helps inspire our teams who work around the clock to ensure patients and their families receive the highest quality compassionate care when they need it the most. Knowing we have people like you by our side makes us even more determined to keep meeting the growing demand for our services so that no one is ever ignored.”
Nigel Hartley– Mountbatten CEO adds, “Our services are growing due to the increasing need from our Island community, and our costs are rising. We are now looking after around 2,000 people on the Island every day, 24/7, within their own homes, in our 16-bed inpatient unit, and at St Mary’s hospital. We are in a really challenging time, and know that everyone is struggling, too. Which is why support from Yokogawa Marex and local businesses like them is more important than ever before. We cannot afford to ignore anyone who needs our expert care and with our communities continued support I know we will get through these tough times together, ensuring Mountbatten will be there for each and every one of us when we need it.”
The Isle of Wight Foodbank says, ‘We are incredibly grateful for the generous donation on behalf of the staff at Yokogawa Marex. In December we supported over 900 people and as we see the cost of living continue to rise, we also see a rise in the number of people needing to use the foodbank, including working individuals. Your kind donation will help us continue supporting local people in crisis with 3-day emergency food parcels. Whilst our aim is not to be here, we realise that we are needed more than ever.’
Divisional Director, Wayne Matthews adds, “I’m incredibly proud of the team for choosing to help local causes for the third year in a row. It’s been a tough year for many people, and both charities provide so much support for families and individuals facing a difficult time. I hope our donation helps both charities who work hard all year round and those who need their help and support.”
