East Cowes student Isaac Brading-Cornish joined Cowes software company Yokogawa Marex for the summer, which has now turned into a permanent role.

After completing his HND in Computing & Software Development at the Isle of Wight College, Isaac wanted to learn more about software before heading off to the University of Portsmouth to do a two-year top up course in Computing and Information Systems.

After securing a summer placement with Yokogawa Marex, Isaac with the Software Test Team,  he hit the ground running. Impressed by his contribution and enthusiasm for testing, he was offered and accepted a permanent role as a Trainee Software Test Engineer, alongside his University course.

In the position of Trainee Software Test Engineer, he will work in an environment to learn about software fundamentals in a commercial environment whilst having time allocated for dedicated study to ensure that greatest opportunity for success with his studies.

Isaac adds, “I have been given the unique privilege to work alongside and learn from Yokogawa Marex’s skilled software testing team. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time during the summer, and I am delighted to join as a permanent member of the team whilst being able to continue my studies at University”.

Divisional Director Wayne Matthews added: “It has been great having Isaac join the test team during the busy summer period, and we are delighted to welcome him to our team and wish him well with his studies at University. Student placements are a great way to get valuable hands-on experience in a work environment, that adds value to their studies and helps to develop the next generation of Software Developers and Testers in the future.”
