The Island Games, a biennial international multi-sports event organized by the International Island Games Association (IIGA), took place from July 8th to July 14th in Guernsey.
We were proud to support the golf team with their shirts for this unique event, receiving lots of positive compliments. The team performed admirably, with Sophie Beardsall once again the top lady, with Lucy Burke having an outstanding Island Games. Dawn Hodge and Catherine Bachelor struggled like many others with the adverse weather conditions on a beautiful by very testing golf course.
In the men’s competition, Nat Riddett was the Islands best performer, closely followed by Darren Masterson. Notably, two newcomers to the Island Games, Benjamin Guy and Chris Hayward, achieved a joint third-place finish for the Isle of Wight.
The occasion was made even more special, as Sophie had the privilege of being the flag bearer at the opening ceremony, and Nat Riddett took on the role of the water carrier.
We extend our congratulations to all the competitors and the golf team as a whole, and we commend everyone involved in making the Island Games a success.
